Sommer-OL i Los Angeles i 2028 har endret løpet for akkreditering. Alle mediehus som akter å sende medarbeidere må registrere seg i en egen portal innen 23. oktober.
Der må man registrere en kontaktperson for mediehuset. Der skal man også definere hvor mange medarbeidere man ønsker (ikke navn foreløpig) i de forskjellige kategoriene. Det inkluderer også såkalt ENR, ikke-rettighetshavere for levende bilder.
Denne informasjonen går så til Norges Olympiske Komite, som så igjen kontakter styret i sportsjournalistforbundet for å foreta en rettferdig fordeling hvis ønsket er større enn antall plasser Norge har fått.
Norsk presse har fått en kvote på 27 E (journalister), 13 EP (fotografer) og 4 NOC-E (presseattasjeer).
I portalen må man også fylle ut hva slags medie man er, opplagstall (lesertall) og noe om historisk dekning av OL.
Det betyr altså at man ikke melder inn antall ønsker til NSF-styret, det skjer i portalen, vi kommer inn i neste ledd.

NEW! To ensure a fair and transparent press accreditation process for the Olympic Games, the IOC is introducing a Press Registration Portal for the LA28 Olympic Games as the initial step of the press accreditation process. Written press, photographers and non-media rights-holding television and radio broadcasters should contact their respective NOCs in the country in which their organisation is based for information on the timelines which might vary in their territory and any other information related to the accreditation process. Applicants will then be required to submit an expression of interest to cover the Games through the Press Registration Portal. All requests will be managed by their respective NOCs in accordance with their own procedures.
The access link is the following https://pressregistrationportal.la28.org and will be available from: Los Angeles Time (Pacific Time) 09:00 on 31 August 2026 to midnight on 23 October 2026. Strict timelines will apply and no late submissions will be accepted. NOCs should also communicate the new accreditation process to press organisations within their respective territories. Each NOC will have access exclusively to applications submitted within its own territory and will assume full responsibility for the evaluation of all expressions of interest received via this portal.
